Our Newest Bottle Babies
Here are photos of HAL's newest rescues: a litter of 4 orphaned kittens (two boys and two girls) who are being bottlefed by HAL volunteer Sue. We are currently taking applications and they will be ready for adoption in a few weeks. You can fill out our online adoption application at:

Donations Desperately Needed For Veterinary Bills
Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) is currently helping two cats in need of medical care.
Pepsi is a little girl, approx. 1 yo, who was found outdoors. She is in desperate need of medical care for diagnosis and treatment. So far, Pepsi has been tested for FIV/FeLV (negative), given routine veterinary care, and been on a 2 week course of antibiotics. She is still having stomach issues and requires more testing and treatment.
Caneel is a 2 month old little girl who is being treated for an eye condition that may require surgery. She's been under ongoing veterinary care. Despite her eye issue, she is a happy, playful kitten.

Due to the poor economy, many small non-profits have been hit extremely hard. HAL's donations have dropped considerably and we are in desperate need of funding so that we can give these cats the chance they deserve. Veterinary receipts and updates will be provided upon request.
HAL does not want to *ever* have to turn away an animal in need due to lack of funding. Please help us. Even the smallest donation would be greatly appreciated. Meet Samson!
Samson was brought to Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) by a PetSmart customer. This 3 week old kitten, not yet old enough to eat on his own, was found in the woods by her home. A HAL volunteer is currently bottle-feeding Samson and he will eventually be up for adoption.

Somerset Patriot Tickets To Benefit HAL
In case anyone is planning on seeing the Somerset Patriots play at home this season (their stadium is in Bridgewater), Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) is selling ticket vouchers for all home games. They are for the $9 seats, but we are selling them for $8 each and 50% of the proceeds will benefit HAL.

Happy Updates: Mischief
Dear HAL:
Just wanted to drop you both a line and let you know that Mischief, now named Riddick, is settling in VERY well in his new home!
He's adorable. Just adorable. Even Jordan, my 13-year-old kitty, seems to think so. There was only about an hour of mild growling and hissing (mostly on Jordan's side), and then they just decided to get along. By the 3rd day, they were playing together, and by the end of the week, they were sharing the window seat. Jordan keeps trying to groom Riddick, and he seems to really enjoy having a buddy. They run around the apartment like little maniacs, and are obviously having fun.
I'm so glad that this little fuzzy guy found me.
Here are a few photos, so you can see how well he's adjusting... and how spoiled he already is. :) It's all good.

Meet Oreo
Oreo was found, beaten and bloody, wandering the streets searching for help. A Good Samaritan called HAL and a volunteer brought Oreo to safety. Oreo was treated for his wounds and will be up for adoption as soon as he's fully recovered. Despite his ordeal, Oreo is extremely friendly and loving. We are currently accepting adoption applications on behalf of this very brave boy!

It's That Time Of The Year
Unfortunately, it's the start of kitten season. While kittens are undeniably cute, there are many more kittens born than available homes. Due to this sad fact, a large percentage of kittens are killed in shelters throughout New Jersey.
Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) receives calls and emails on a daily basis for kittens in need of rescue, but the calls increase during the Spring/Summer months.
We are currently accepting applications for kittens so that we can get a headstart! Pre-approved applicants will be informed when kittens enter our foster system. Preference is always given to applicants who will adopt a pair.
Please visit www.halrescue.org and fill out our online adoption application to be pre-approved. On the application where you are asked for the cat's name, type "Pre-approval request for kitten(s)."
The kittens in the photo are currently in our foster system and will be available for adoption as soon as they are able to eat on their own.

1. Spay/neuter, medical care, and rehoming of homeless cats in a Manalapan, NJ housing complex.
2. Spay surgery and medical care of a homeless cat who was scheduled to be killed at a "no-kill shelter."
3. Medical bills for a cat with an enlarged kidney.
More information on each case can be provided upon request.
