Donations Desperately Needed For Veterinary Bills

Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) is currently helping two cats in need of medical care.

Pepsi is a little girl, approx. 1 yo, who was found outdoors. She is in desperate need of medical care for diagnosis and treatment. So far, Pepsi has been tested for FIV/FeLV (negative), given routine veterinary care, and been on a 2 week course of antibiotics. She is still having stomach issues and requires more testing and treatment.

Caneel is a 2 month old little girl who is being treated for an eye condition that may require surgery. She's been under ongoing veterinary care. Despite her eye issue, she is a happy, playful kitten.

(Photos of both cats are below)

Due to the poor economy, many small non-profits have been hit extremely hard. HAL's donations have dropped considerably and we are in desperate need of funding so that we can give these cats the chance they deserve. Veterinary receipts and updates will be provided upon request.

HAL does not want to *ever* have to turn away an animal in need due to lack of funding. Please help us. Even the smallest donation would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made via our web site (www.halrescue.org). We are registered with PayPal (RescueHAL@aol.com) and justgive.org. You can also make your donation via postal service: HAL, POB 237, Manalapan, NJ 07726

While HAL is a small group, it is an extremely active, all-volunteer 501c3 organization. We provide food, supplies, and veterinary care to pet guardians and feral cat caretakers who are struggling. We run a cat adoption program, as well as a humane education program geared toward children and teens. Please remember us when you are donating! Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law

Thank you!

Meet Samson!

Samson was brought to Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) by a PetSmart customer. This 3 week old kitten, not yet old enough to eat on his own, was found in the woods by her home. A HAL volunteer is currently bottle-feeding Samson and he will eventually be up for adoption.

Please consider donating to HAL; your donations help us continue our vital work and save lives! You can donate via our web site, PayPal (RescueHAL@aol.com), or postal service (HAL, POB 237, Manalapan, NJ 07726). We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Remember: Please do not unnecessarily separate nursing kittens from their mothers! If you find a single kitten in need of help, please check the area for others. Litters usually consist of 2 or more kittens.

Contact HAL at RescueHAL@aol.com if you need information about caring for orphaned kittens.

Happy Updates: Mischief

Dear HAL:

Just wanted to drop you both a line and let you know that Mischief, now named Riddick, is settling in VERY well in his new home!

He's adorable. Just adorable. Even Jordan, my 13-year-old kitty, seems to think so. There was only about an hour of mild growling and hissing (mostly on Jordan's side), and then they just decided to get along. By the 3rd day, they were playing together, and by the end of the week, they were sharing the window seat. Jordan keeps trying to groom Riddick, and he seems to really enjoy having a buddy. They run around the apartment like little maniacs, and are obviously having fun.

I'm so glad that this little fuzzy guy found me.

Here are a few photos, so you can see how well he's adjusting... and how spoiled he already is. :) It's all good.

Be well, and thank you!
Samantha

Meet Oreo

Oreo was found, beaten and bloody, wandering the streets searching for help. A Good Samaritan called HAL and a volunteer brought Oreo to safety. Oreo was treated for his wounds and will be up for adoption as soon as he's fully recovered. Despite his ordeal, Oreo is extremely friendly and loving. We are currently accepting adoption applications on behalf of this very brave boy!

If you would like to donate toward Oreo's veterinary care, please earmark your donation "Oreo" and send it:

- via PayPal at halrescue.org

or
